Public Information Officer Training
The Raytom Groups Public Information Officer (PIO) awareness courses are designed to introduce new emergency managers from State, local, tribal, territorial, and Federal emergency management agencies to the concepts underlying the PIO role. They also build a foundational knowledge of the skills needed to be full or part-time PIOs, including oral and written communications; understanding and working with the media; and basic tools and techniques to perform effectively as a PIO, both in the proactive/ advocacy times and crisis/ emergency response. NIGHT VISION operators course
Night vision and thermal imaging gives your agency the immediate upper hand when encountering a night-time threat. This course will lean on lessons learned and evolution of NVG in a military setting and will primarily focus on the beginner, intermediate and expert deployment of NVG’s in a LEO tactical environment. The Raytom Group motto of “Train how you Fight” is demonstrated in this course with live fire range requirements, the incorporation of unit specific tactics and course delivery from expert instructors within SWAT and Special Operations Communities. “Train the Trainer” NVG courses available upon request. Mass Casualty Exercise and Planning
The Raytom Groups Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) and Master Exercise Practitioner (MEP) subject matter experts have extensive experience in designing, facilitating, controlling, and evaluating mass casualty exercises. The Raytom Group believes that by engaging key stakeholders through ultra realistic exercises and incorporating methodologies found in both the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and HSEEP our exercises will prepare your agency/unit for the most challenging situations.
Crisis prevention and intervention/de-escalation
The Raytom Group is proud to offer crisis prevention/De-escalation training that aligns with most accreditation and regulatory bodies for Police, Fire and EMS agencies. Our instructors experience coupled with engaging in person course delivery will help demonstrate highly effective de-escalation techniques public saftey providers face during stressful, challenging and aggressive encounters.
Trauma Resiliency Training
The Raytom Group understands that the nature of public safety necessitates serial exposures to traumatic events. Society demands that public saftey providers perform duties according to current best practices and guidelines in their chosen professions (e.g., military, police, firefighter, EMT etc.) Our instructors all come from Public Saftey backgrounds and understand that while we spend extensive amounts of focused training time on the practical skills application of provider roles we do not tend to receive adequate training in is in recognizing, managing, and addressing the common and predictable effects of exposure to traumatic events in our chosen professions. Participants learn that traumatization is not an inevitable consequence of exposure to trauma, but rather an ongoing risk of the job that, when managed, reduces the likelihood one will be injured. Participants learn the basic skills of trauma management to begin using immediately.
